These lenses were originally photographic lenses, built by Leica in the 80s and 90s. They have a lower contrast and resolution when wide open, which creates a flattering look, but they sharpen up a lot when stopped down. They are versatile in terms of the look you can achieve. They are sharp in the centre and have a gentle roll off to become softer in the corners, with very low lens distortions, even on the widest lens. The 19mm covers 6K 3:2 on the Venice, but is just shy of open gate on the Alexa Mini LF. All the other lenses cover full frame
